Heavyweight 741 photographed in Chicago in 1964 as part of the Lake Cities consist, was one of eight ex-Erie lounge diners assigned the numbers 740-747 in the new EL numbering plan. The Pullman-built diner, with a capacity of 10 in the lounge and 24 in the dining room, was modernized after World War II with a streamlined, high-profile roof and large windows.
